How many people are there to a group session?
Group sessions vary in size but will maximize at 17 students.
Are there any private sessions available?
There are not any private sessions available at this time; however, each student will have the opportunity to work 1:1 with the Virtual Learning Partner in a breakout session each hour or whenever they need assistance during the session.
How are the sessions administered each day?
Students will sign in to their sessions each day via Zoom or telephone. The VLP will help the student set a course for that day, check in with the students progress each hour, and give assistance whenever necessary. Assignments will be reviewed, discussed, and submissions verified. Students who's assignments are caught up will review notes with the VLP to help prepare for exams.
What are the select subjects that include tutoring?
Included in the price of Virtual Learning Assistance is tutoring for middle and high school math from Algebra to Cal 3; English and composition; biology, chemistry and physics.
What if my child needs help with other subjects?
A VLP will class shadow your child when needed to help them grasp the concepts. If students need further assistance, additional tutoring services may be purchased through EVLS at an additional cost or parents may hire an outside tutor.
How many students are there to a class?
There are a minimum of 10 students, maximum of 15 students to each class.
Which pace should I choose?
All students will take a pretest and receive a recommendation of the pace appropriate for them. A general guideline is that students who have not been working on GED or high school subjects for a year or more should take the slowest pace.
What if I don't past the GED in the subject area that I am taking?
If students have made a passing score on the post test and practice tests but do not pass the actual GED subject test, then they may repeat the course within the year at no additional charge.
Is there an age requirement for the classes?
Students must be a minimum of 16 years old to register for GED classes, or turn 16 by the time they complete their first course so that they may be eligible to test without delay. There is no maximum age requirement.
Are there any additional costs or fees associated with this course?
There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee. Students are also required to purchase the required textbook for the course.
Registration fees are non-refundable. Services may be cancelled at any time prior to Sunday, the start of the new billing week, by providing written notice. Refunds for the unused weeks if paid in advanced will be remitted by mail. For example, students who pay monthly but cancel in week two of the month, will receive a refund for weeks 3 and 4. Likewise, students who pay bi-monthly and cancel in week 1 of the billing week will receive a refund for week 2.
Registration fees are non-refundable. Students may receive a full tuition refund by providing a written notice at least 24-hours prior to the first day of classes. Refunds will be remitted by mail. Students who cancel prior to the second day of class will receive a partial refund. There will be no refunds for cancellations after the first week. Students may choose to defer their start date of the class should they run into circumstances that prevent them from continuing. Please email or call us for assistance with this issue.
